Easy Poached Eggs (no vinegar!)

I love poached eggs. But sometimes I don't have husband around to cook them when I want to eat, so today I adventured in the kitchen to try to make a poached egg. On my first try I used the regular recipe that requires to use vinegar in the water, but I didn't like the taste of it.

So I found a Julia Child's video where she teaches how to make poached eggs with no need for vinegar, all you have to do is to poke a small hole on them. Although I didn't bathe my eggs in ice water as she did in the end, my eggs came just as perfect!

Here I am sharing step by step of how to make them.

Let your eggs rest for a little bit before cooking.

Poke a hole on the egg using a (clean) pushpin.

Boil water in a small saucepan.

Add the poked egg gently in the water. Let it sit for about 10 seconds and remove from the pan.

Swirl the water, in one direction, using a spoon.

Gently crack the egg in the swirling water.

Now this step is very important: Don't touch anything. Just wait patiently 2-3 minutes.

Carefully remove the, now poached, egg from the water and transfer to a plate.

Voila!
