How to Clean an Oven

I have said many times before: I do not cook. In our household, hubby and I are a great team, so he loves to cook, and he handles all of that, and I do the cleaning and organizing.

One thing that I have to deal with, on a daily basis, is the fact that he really relies on me on the cleaning part, so quite often our oven looks like the picture above (actually, this was our oven after an entire month of me not cleaning it).

I also like my nails quite a lot, and I am not a fan of getting them ruined, so scrubbing is not my favorite thing to do. So to clean our oven I went to my good old friends: Baking Soda and Vinegar.

The recipe is pretty easy, first sprinkle baking soda all over your oven, usually a small box will do it. then mix the following ingredients in a spray bottle and spray all of it over the oven. Now just let it be for a couple ours.

Tip: The best time to do this is overnight, so you can let it sit for long ours and clean up the mess early morning.

♥ Enjoy!

  1. Sorry for the question, but could you tell me the " following ingredients" , probably it's my fault, but I can't see them. I really want to try your way of cleaning, because the second picture is impressive! Thank you

  3. Great tips, thank you! Quick question though – I used (straight) vinegar to clean my bathroom last week and it seems to have created a bad film on my tile, sink and faucet. At first everything seemed spic and pan, but it seemed to attract soap scum or water minerals or something. Has this ever happened to you? What to do about it?
